Piepenburg is a small village about 4 miles southwest of Plathe (now Ploty).
In 1905, the village had 165 residents with another 149 residents living on the estate (Gutsbezirk). Friederike Sophie Henriette Maass (nee Prahl), my 2nd great grandmother, was born in this village about November 6, 1810.
